Runner. Mother. Wife. I started running to lose weight. I have lost over 50 lbs. I have done 2 half marathons, one full marathon, a duathlon, and two triathlons. Next up? My goal is to be happy. Be healthy. Be active. Challenge myself in ways I never dreamed of until I started this journey. Running is what got me started, but I recently discovered I love biking. Who knows where the road will take me.

Throwback Thursday before and after edition.

I remember seeing that picture on the left after my husband took it (Aug ‘09) and instantly felt disgusting and embarrassed.

We were on our first big family vacation and were having fun with the kids at the amusement park. All of the fun I had just had on that ride was replaced with, “I can’t believe I look like that.”

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Sometimes on my bad days I feel like that person on the left. When I look in the mirror I still see her.

The picture on the right is from this morning. Sometimes you need to look back to see how far you’ve come.
